Paul Mitchell Hair Products

We know that finding great vegan products can be challenging. That's why they've made it easier for you and us to choose from the wide selection of vegan products - from permanent colour products like the color XG®, to our demi-permanent The Demi and balayage favourites like Skylight®.
All Paul Mitchell Professional Hair Color products are not tested on animals and do not contain any animal-derived ingredients. Instead, we use plant-based ingredients that are great for your hair – like cottonseed oil, rice protein and sunflower extract (more on these below!) – or synthetic ingredients instead.

WHAT GOES INTO OUR COLOUR?

COTTONSEED OIL

COTTONSEED OIL

Used in many skin, hair care and makeup products, cottonseed oil is loaded with natural antioxidants and rich in vitamin E. The linoleic acid in cottonseed oil helps promote hair growth, whilst the ceramides strengthen hair and make it glossy and smooth.

RICE PROTEIN

RICE PROTEIN

To maintain healthy hair, your hair needs protein. It fills the gaps in your cuticles, making hair stronger and more manageable. Gentle for all skin types, hydrolyzed rice protein is often used in hair care products for those allergic to soy or wheat proteins.

SUNFLOWER SEED EXTRACT

SUNFLOWER SEED EXTRACT

Sunflower seed extract has many benefits during the colouring process. Rich in fatty acids and vitamin E, it had deep moisturising properties, prevents colour fading and eliminates brassiness. It also provides intense UV protection and adds shine.

No Animal Testing

We use Paul Mitchell products because, like them, we’re passionate about beauty from the inside out. And that commitment has been at the core of all that we do since they began in 1980. They were the first professional beauty company to publicly stand up against animal testing—and 40 years later, they're still rockin’ that pledge to our furry friends.
Testing on animals is cruel and unnecessary, yet a lot of beauty brands still engage in this ugly practice. Not Paul Mitchell! They never have, and they never will. Testing on actual humans makes way more sense, and that’s why they’re proud to have our very own Production Innovation Center to perfect our products for you.
They’re so passionate about this cause that they feature a "No Animal Testing" logo on all of our products to emphasize and highlight their dedication. They want you to know that when you use Paul Mitchell, you’re making the world a more beautiful place...one fabulous hairstyle—and compassionate purchase—at a time.

About Green Salon Collective

Reds Hair Salon are working with Green Salon Collective to be a more sustainable salon.
Their vision is to raise the standard of the salon industry by enabling salons to become more ethical and sustainable environments for not only the salon but for the stylists and salon guests.
Green salon collective will recycle colour waste, colour tubes, and even hair and much more. Did you know that currently, hair goes straight into landfill? The hair collected from our salon will be used for either gardening, composting, or for oil or waterway cleaning operations.
Most Salon waste goes into landfill but with Green Salon Collective they have a zero to landfill policy.
At Reds, we are passionate about hair but also the world we live in.
